Learn to make a beautiful cane market basket to use in your vegetable patch when gathering your produce or to take to your local market. Morning tea and a delicious lunch by Simmone Logue will be served on the veranda, inspired by our organic kitchen garden and local produce. We will finish our day enjoying a gin and tonic and local cheese around the fire pit. You get to take your basket home with you. How good is that?

About Penny
Penny Simons is an artist and designer whose work unites textiles, weaving, biodynamics and horticulture. Penny uses foraged materials to connect us to the earth and the wisdom, spirituality and artisan crafts of indigenous people and our ancestors. Penny resonates deeply with the beauty, vulnerability and spirituality of nature and her lifelong art practice aims to restore, reconnect and heal. Penny was one of the founding partners of Cloth, a Sydney-based bespoke textile design business begun in the 1990s that produced hand-printed, dyed and constructed textiles for the furnishing and fashion industries. She earned a BA Hons Constructed Textiles, majoring in weaving, from Winchester School of Art, England. Penny now works from her studio in Marrickville, Sydney.
