An Evening to Remember at Essington Park

Renzaglia Wines & Simmone Logue: An Autumn Dinner at Essington Park

Sam and I are absolutely thrilled to invite you to a memorable evening of feasting and fine wine as we present our very first collaboration in our beautifully converted shearing shed at Essington Park.

I have crafted a menu designed to showcase the vibrant flavours of produce grown in our own organic vegetable garden, complemented by the best from local growers. Sam will carefully select wines from his Renzaglia collection to perfectly pair with each dish, ensuring a truly harmonious dining experience.

Below is a sample menu for the evening.

Our magical evening begins with:
Chicken liver parfait, served with quince jam, marigold, and warm slices of Essington Park sourdough.

For the main course:
Slow-braised beef rib in Pedro Ximénez, accompanied by creamy potato gratin and charred Essington Park greens.

To finish on a sweet note:
Baked pear with almond crumble and double cream, a dessert that embraces the warmth and coziness of autumn.

And of course, no feast would be complete without cheese. We will serve:

  • Bold and tangy Roquefort

  • A luxuriously creamy brie

  • Walnut panforte to round out the flavours

Throughout the evening, we will unveil the thoughtfully paired wines for each course, and you will have the opportunity to purchase your favourites before we gather by the fire pit to end the night with laughter and camaraderie, surrounded by friends old and new.

The evening begins at 6 PM, and we cannot wait to share this special celebration with you.

With love,
Simmone x

About Renzaglia Wines

Mark’s parents, Guy and Betty Renzaglia planted their first grape vines on their new vineyard site in Alto Pass, Illinois in 1982. At the time, Alto Pass was a dry county (no alcohol production or sales allowed) and the grape industry of Illinois was virtually non-existent. It’s safe to say there was some considerable push back to the idea of the establishment of a vineyard and winery in the area. During the early years of Alto Vineyards, Mark and his “Aussie wife” Sandy got a taste of the challenge and gratification of the grape and wine industry as they spent their youthful energy assisting “Alto” in its early development.

Fast forward three generations and wine making has entwined itself within Renzaglia DNA. In 1997, back in Australia, Mark and Sandy planted their first small acreage of grapes. This became their Bella Luna vineyard in the O’Connell Valley, NSW. There were no other vineyards in the O’Connell Valley at that time, as was the case for Guy and Betty in Alto Pass.

Nowadays, Sam is on board full time in the vineyard and winery. His passion for the grape and wine industry is undeniable and the future of the operation is bright.

The Bella Luna Vineyard has more than doubled in size since 2020; leases have commenced at the Mt Panorama Estate and Winooka Park Vineyards and the wine is now all being produced in their new winery building overlooking the original vine plantings.

Family owned and operated winery/vineyard located at O’Connell, New South Wales. Offering boutique wines that are full of life and passionately produced.
